Beta 19 Mid Update

It’s been a while since I last posted here; I haven’t been in the right mindset to write an update. Although the project is very active, and I’ve posted a few updates on its dedicated website (accessible to the initial beta testers), I just didn’t have the energy to write something here. Losing my buddy Alireza—mentioned in my last post—hit me harder than I expected.

However, like everything in life, we humans tend to adjust, even if it’s more about adapting to the new normal rather than fully accepting it. I’d say it’s like being born again with a new set of settings every time something drastic happens. Anyway, in this post, I’ll do my best to keep everyone updated on where we are now.

One More Feature

It feels like a rabbit hole sometimes, but hear me out. I don’t have infinite resources (money or energy) to launch things, so everything requires careful planning, coordination, and faith. To get straight to the point: in early 2024, we decided to show the final version we were preparing to launch to some close friends. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite ready. After a few weeks of denial, I accepted it and decided to make some progress.

While feedback from friends isn’t a scientific or controlled test, I decided to take it seriously. The problem was simple: the features were good, even admirable, but not compelling enough to persuade anyone to engage deeply with our business model.

As a startup founder, you often have a long list of ideas and even prototyped features that you choose not to include in the initial version for obvious reasons like time and team size. However, I decided to implement one of our major features originally planned for version 2 in our first public release. This would essentially activate our business model from the get-go.

Now that we’re a few months in, I can say in hindsight that it was probably one of the best decisions I’ve made since starting this project. It makes perfect sense to launch something that can generate revenue from day one, which not only benefits us but also makes it easier for future investors to come on board.

It’s also worth mentioning that there were other limitations that influenced this decision, but I’ll leave those details for another time.

The Founding Team

In the past few months, I’ve been focused on finalizing our hiring plan and taking steps to bring on our initial team members. Some have already joined, and others will be coming on board according to the timeline we’ve outlined in our comprehensive launch plan.

We’ve put together a thorough onboarding orientation package that includes all the essential training needed for new hires to integrate with the rest of the initial team. It took a lot of time and effort but was worth every second.

Hiring the right team members and ensuring they fully understand the platform we’ve built and immerse themselves in the business domain we’re entering is crucial for the company’s long-term success.

Everything is in Motion

Since my last project-related update, we’ve released one beta and three in-house alpha versions. We’re actively developing the platform and the major feature I mentioned earlier, and we’re optimistic about rolling out the next beta version with that feature in about a month.

I can’t make any promises (and wouldn’t want to, given my bias), but let’s just say you’ll be hearing about our Public Beta testing soon.

A Final Note

I hope to someday release the full, uncensored story of the journey I started a few years ago. Trust me, once you read it, you’ll truly understand and empathize with what my team and I have been doing all these years and the challenges we’ve faced.

I’ve dedicated some of the best years of my life to this, and I’m more certain than ever that it’s going to make a significant impact on the quality of many lives.

Till the next update, stay alive!
