I have been keeping a low profile during the last few months as I have been heavily occupied with completing my share of tasks in Beta 12. Now I thought it would be a proper time to give you a quick update on our progress and other affairs in the company.
Lengthy Beta 12
First of all, we were facing numerous technical challenges that we had encountered in making some sections of the app offline accessible. Although we have managed to tackle them one by one, they made us complete many tasks of other phases ahead of us. They made us go out of the scope of the Beta 12 phase many times.
Second, we were changing a lot of things under the hood, and applying any change requires us to deal with its side effects, which some are unknown to us until we commit that change.
Finally, since this phase has stretched over months, we took some breaks to keep our sanity. We are dealing with crazy problems in this phase, and resolving them is taxing and requires a level of creativity that only comes with a well-rested mind.
These were the most notable reasons why Beta 12 becomes such a lengthy phase.
Public Beta Test
We’ve postponed deciding on when to start the public Beta test until we wrapped up this phase. I guess it’s no surprise to anyone at this point that the length of this phase would delay the Public Beta test, but to what extent? We don’t know yet.
New iOS release
Since the offline version has been delayed, we’ve just released another update for iOS users to renew the beta testing time of the current version in TestFlight (The current iOS beta testers know what I’m talking about)
Android App
Last month we discontinued the Android app maintenance. It was a tough decision, yet I believe a right one at this point. It helps us maintain and perhaps accelerate the development of the features we already planned and are very excited about.
I discussed the reasons behind the decision in my previous update:
Alright, that’s about it!
Till the next update, Stay safe!
Cheers!
