The platform’s iOS app is now fully equipped with features we added to the android app in the last phase. It’s about time we expanded our circle of private testers. We have released a total of 8 updates; 4 updates for Android ( mostly bugfixes ) and 4 updates for iOS during beta 9.
Private Beta Tester Expansion
We have already started sending out some invitations for private beta testing. By the end of the next phase, we expect to let the beta users invite a few of their friends as well.
One of the major modules we developed in 2020 and one that we are really proud of is a complete solution to generate private testing invitations for our platform.
We are going to rely on that to safely expand the platform users to test the scalability of our servers.
About Public Beta Testing
As I pointed out in my previous posts, we are not going to rush into public beta testing until this COVID situation is resolved to the extent that we can predict the end of restrictions (or whatever it is going to look like) with a better degree of certainty.
Mid to late December 2020 is our next point of decision-making of whether or not to start the public beta testing in early 2021. One way or another, we certainly keep adding features.
A Personal Break
Beta 8 and Beta 9 were brutal and taxing for everyone in our team, especially me. Before moving on to the next phase, I need to take a couple of weeks off.
It’s a shame that I probably can’t take a trip or plan a fancy vacation and should rest and relax in post-pandemic fashion; probably catch up some sleep, drink and watch some trash tv. By the way, my wonderful teammates would cover up for me and move on according to our timeline, and I’ll join them in a couple of weeks.
